gold laced brahma or cochin

Yes, it's hard to tell by the pic. Does she have feathered feet? Of course, the French Standard for Marans calls for feathered feet as well. She looks like she has a single comb & Brahmas are supposed to have pea combs though. Did you buy her as a Brahma?? She's cute either way. :)
No just in a mix of other hens. Yes she has feet feathers. I figured the comb type would be the tell-all but I'm not familiar enough with all the breeds yet to know the difference lol still learning! I will have to check her comb tomorrow and try to get better pics Thanks for the info.

I have a rooster and a hen that are sort-of gold laced Brahmas. Sire was Buff Brahma and the mama could have been any one of my non-Brahma hens which included some Welsummers, a couple of alleged Ameraucanas, and a couple that may have been part Swedish Flower hen.

Both the rooster and hen are very heavy (heavier than my Buff Brahmas) and feather-footed. The combs are not correct pea combs, however. I am breeding the rooster and hen, plus one other hen with the desired coloring. After that hatch, I may put the hen to the best of my Buff Brahma roosters, and the rooster with a couple of Buff Brahma hens. Just to see what happens.

I wonder what the correct way to develop gold-laced Brahmas is. Or any other new color variety.
