Sweetpea laid her first egg today! e...now to set it after NYD hatch-a-long and see if Champ has figured out the business end yet....He follows her around like a little lost puppy, but I haven't seen him breed her yet. Maybe he's just a gentleman about it and catches her when nobody is looking.

Yeah! That 1st egg is always the best! She's in business now. .......nice sized egg too! Hopefully Champ is doing his thing...but it could still be a little early. But, don't worry....it won't be long now until you have some babies chirping.....LOL

How old do you think they can be to tell the sex with just the color of them? I SO want or need a couple.of pullets.to go with my rooster.

It all depends to be honest. Sometimes you can tell at 8 weeks. Most of the time it is just a guess at that young of an age. Some males have female features until they get to about 4 months old.


She does not like the cold..lol 6 week old pullet..sometimes you can tell early.
