How were they created? I haven't seen them available in the US. If anybody has an answer other than "here's a link to chicken genetics" I'd be most grateful. I can't get my brain around all that complicated stuff.

I don't know anyone with any in US. Doesnt mean someone isn't working on them. I have a picture of one from a friend in Polland who imported hers from Germany. They are gorgeous. Some one on the the other BYC told me you have to use Golden laced Wyandotte Cross with Buff Orp and then work your way back into type once you have the coloring.
I have a cockeral now that came out of a Mottled Orp and his legs are white and he has a few white spots. His mother was in with a Black Cockeral. I want to try and get him back to the ones with the Mottled hen so they can breed back to Mom.

Oh my gosh - that has got to be the most gorgeous rooster I've ever seen! He doesn't look real . . .
Wow! I want one of those someday . . .

Me too. I think they probably have the most beautiful of the Orps in Europe. Told my friend that woudl make you want to smuggle eggs.

Everyone has decided that Cynthia did such a great job with the Blues , AND SHE DID!..... Should we toss her a new bone? How about it Cynthia? ready for the next challenge?,After all you seem to grasp this genetics stuff that flies right over

(most of us anyway) our heads! Someone in the U.S. really needs to start a foundation flock of these Orps! Might as well get in on the forefront!
