I had EE's hatch with the GLW and they are very fast feathering and growing. They always outpace the other breeds. So it's hard to tell if the GLW are actually that slow.
true true. never had EEs but they do seem to feather fast as heck

I'm brand new to chickens. This is what I think to be glw, idk if pullet or cockerel - very moody though. Always attacks me for getting the food, water, and other chicks. Lol any ideas? Someone saw another picture of all six together and automatically said it was a cockerel. It's about 4-5 weeks old.

Well, if its a cockerel. It should look something like this.... This is my boy, Peep.Either way I'll be happy. The bin I picked from was supposed to be a mix of reds. However me being me, I picked two odd balls just because. Lol I ended up with two sussex, two production red, a glw, and a barred rock. They are all very pretty with their feathers starting to fill in. I'm excited to see what they end up looking like. Definitely glad I found this site. Tons of info.![]()
My G.L.W.s are 6 wks. now and I was wondering If I can give them any real grubs/worms, yet. Still to soon for them to be out yet, but I am in the garden and run across all kinds of goodies. Just wondering !!? And if not how old would you suggest ??
