Well there is only 2 varieties of Phoenix accepted in the standard of perfection silver and golden so at best you could get a BOV (best of variety).

He's a decent bird! But definatley no where near bantam size, he is a standard b.b. red phoenix, gold duck wing is a totally different color, but came be bred out of b.b. reds in time as duckwings, bb's, and wheatons are all basically the same pattern birds, just different colors.
As for show quality, doubt it, he has a few flaws, the lobes being one of them. But still a very nice breeder bird!

Yes , the Wellsummers and maybe Red Dorkings are the only standard breeds that are the wild type, BBRed ( Red Duckwing) color, If he was bred to the Welsummer hens, all the male chicks would be the color of the phoenix roo and all the hens would be the color of the welli hens since both parents are genetically the same color, just different breeds , so the type should be kind of a combination of the two.

If you bred him with the SLW or the Cuckoo hens, you would get some form of Sexlink

He is definitely a standard not Bantam. He is a BBRed and he is decent looking. If you want to show him you need to get him off the ground to keep his tail nice, I housed mine in my barn and kept my perches high, they would get down to eat & drink, but then stayed on the perches 90% of the time.

I bred mine to a Gold Hen and got BBRED, Gold and occassionally White.

Ummmm....... Does anybody know how to tell if a 5 day old gold duckwing Phoenix is hen or roo???? I have 7 chicks and 1 is really light and the 6 others are pretty dark the lighter one has. A golden breast and and lighter stripes. I think it's called a chipmunk pattern.the others are more blackish. I need to see if I have 1 roo or 6 Roos because if I have 6:1 that's not a good combo. :/

that really has nothing to do with it, you just have 6 dark golds and 1 light gold is all. Only way to tell is give them more time to fill out. Any black coming in on the breast is usually the first and most reliable sign of a male, bigger redder combs is too... time will tell

start watching the breast feathers. Uusually in most phoenix lines, if there's any black in the breast on duckwings...it's a boy.. pinkish salmon coloring...girls

and of course the normal pointy saddles and hackles are always male signs
