Her name is "Nahani" wich means "The one who shines" we calls her "Hani" for short.

She is very smart, she knows how to sit and stay plus how to come she also knows the word Out

She is almost Potty trained and is Paper trained she does NOT eat chickens and loves to play fetch

Tips from someone who did it all wrong the first time:

NO MOUTH!!! (Don't let her chew on your hand/sleeve/etc)

SIT! STAY! (This means no exuberant charging and knocking over visitors)

Lots of exercise!

And basically, anything that might be cute now but won't be when she weighs 75 lbs. is off-limits.

Oh, and give her lots of love - sounds like you already are.

Congrats on the pup.

Goldens are all my mom or dad will own. We had Vizslas before but for my 10th birthday, I was given a big, red 2 yr old golden retriever from a dog rescue. He was my bud. After he died and my parents divorced, they each got a golden retriever. They're so smart and sweet and excellent with children. I was at TSC last week and an elderly gent came in with a very large, fluffy male that was so well-behaved.

Wonderful dogs, I hope you enjoy Hani

ALOT of socialization !! with dogs and other people from the very young to the very old...in different circumstances...spend some time outside of a shopping area or park so alot of people pet him /her ...I'd do that alot........ and other animals.........best time to start is now...rub her tummy !!!! and good training....remember your the boss....good luck and congrats !!!

she does NOT eat chickens

keep in mind, goldens are bird dogs, since she's only 9 weeks old, TEACH her early, take her out SEVERAL times a day, take a chicken, hold it up to her, and if she snaps at it, Scold her, make sure she KNOWS that chickens are off limits. he had to do thatwith out pit mix, to teach him that cats were NOT his toys

because it won't be so funny when she's 70+ pounds, and has made herself a nice, bloody chicken salad in the coop.

my wifesgrandparents have a FAT golden, seriously she's as WIDE as our 200+pound pot-belly/duroc mix hog Sophie, she wieghs probably OVER 100 pounds.

well, wifes granmother brought the dog over on their golf cart one day while the chooks were out freerange, and the dog went NUTS!

so much for "SUCH A WELL BEHAVED" dog *insert eye-roll smilie here*
