Without meaning to sound heartless, that is probably for the best.
I will certainly not miss my neighbors dogs one bit when they are finally gone. Too many instances of aggression on their part to mention. One of them also killed one of my chickens 2 days after Christmas last year.

Not heartless on your part. I do miss one of them as I grew attached, the other one well that's another story, and I think she was the instigator.
