i got 17 eggs, crap make that 16 eggs now, oops now i feel bad. total of 9 red stars, 5 nhr and rir cross and i believe one banty egg. going tonight to pick up the bator at tractor supply. now i have left these eggs out in the coop starting sunday. sunday was a warmer day. monday was ok. yesterday tuesday was a high around 40. now after reading that i should have had them inside a 60 degree area till i was ready to hatch i went out to collect the egg and put them in a cooler bedroom thats not so warm. should i even try to hatch these eggs? or should i try with a new batch. im torn have no idea what to do

They will be just fine. Make sure you get your bator stable before you put them eggs in there. Good luck. You've come to the right place for great info.

Ok great. Im gonna get it after work and put todays eggs in with it also. Might wait till tomorrow and put tomorrows eggs in there too. Or who knows, I might just get really anxious and not wait lollol

I do have one more question. I have eggs now from sunday on through today. Which is better: add to the eggs I have now for a few days so I can get more or wait a few more days and set them all at once. I understand the older ones have a decreased chance of a sucessfull hatch, but I also understand that adding to them is a bad idea. Any suggestions?

I would collect as many as you want and set them all at the same time. This way you don't have a staggered hatch and less to worry about.

I set eggs I collected for about a week and added 2 in that were laid that day. Let me tell you those two fresh ones developed much faster than the ones that sat on my counter. I am really expecting them to be the first two out. They are the most active rockers in the bunch
