Man, he is one understanding rooster. Poor guy.

Or dumb as a stump! Gosh if only he would thump them one!

And the brats have even started on poor Clyde the Brave, picking at his pin feathers on his neck/cheeks. But because he is dark it doesn’t show all that much so they haven’t gone to the extent as with Mr P.

Thank you everyone.

My sister is supposed to be bringing me back the security camera's. She got mom a set for Christmas 2 years ago and mom never put them up right away. Last year before her vacation she "borrowed" them to put them up in her house so she could spy on her cats while away. She still has them. I'm lucky if I get to see her once every 2 weeks. Our work schedule and her work schedule at the hospital means neither of us have the same day off. Her boyfriend is also a x-ray technician. I saw him at the hospital yesterday when I went in for bloodwork. He told me I was in the best hands for the surgery as far as shoulder operations go. He was actually coming out of surgery. He joins the dr that did Rosie's collar bone repair in the OR for every one of his surgeries to do the x-rays. He was in there with her when she had her surgery done. I was getting my text updates from him as the nurses who were supposed to keep me updated while I waited did not.

I'm as set as I can get for immediately after. I have a good idea of what I will need immediately after thanks to mom. She had this same repair done 6 years ago now. She did have it rough for a few weeks after. I remember she started physical therapy 2 weeks out and it lasted several months. I have been told already I would need 2 to 3 months of physical therapy afterwards. Whatever they tell me I need to do I will do. I want my range of motion back. Honestly, I just want to be able to reach behind my back and snap my own bra again. If I can end up doing that, success. The ice packs I got were stupid expensive, but, they each came with a sling so they can be strapped in place. The recliner will be my bed for the first 2 weeks, but I also picked up a big body pillow so if I choose to use my bed I can stay propped up on pillows. When I'm done with it Rosie can have it. I will say I used it last night along with my other 2 and for the first time in a long time I was able to get comfortable enough to sleep a few hours straight. I will not be able to use it right away, but I also picked up a new weighted heating pad. We needed a new one anyway as our old one does not work well anymore.

Rosie started school this morning. She had to go today to pick up her laptop and the rest of the year she is in virtual. She will be my nurse immediately after. It is a good thing too. She is the only one besides myself who knows the workings of my insulin pump and sensor system in and out. She can change both the sensor and insulin pods without verbal step by step instructions. I know I will be sent home with strong pain meds. I also know my body's reactions to anything stronger then a prescription Motrin, things move on walls that should not move and I do not like it or the feeling of it. As soon as possible I will be on Tylenol and Motrin only.

As far as the chickens go, my brother is using his lowes discount and buying supplies for me. He's going to build me a run and cover it. Free ranging is just going to have to stop. I'm also going to slowly switch over to bantams solely like the silkies who take to confinement happily. I love my big girls don't get me wrong. But so do the coyote's or foxes. Of the larger girls, the 2 cochins and Mrs. E the dark brahma are the happiest about being confined. My Marans are still not very happy and try to break out of the coops every chance they get. I feel extremely guilty, but it is for their own safety right now.
Sounds like you have good plans! Therapy afterwards - there could be a couple of weeks where you don’t need pain pills on the regular, but you could find them useful just for your therapy session time. There’s stretching and breakup of adhesions that needs to take place.

Brahmas make me think of Bielefelders. They are large and have the reputation for being very calm and just enjoying the scenery, are non-aggressive, non-dominating, don’t *have* to free-range and are auto-sexing.

Could it be a protein issue originally? Is it a breakable habit?

I have resisted doing this but Mrs BY Bob (Rose) has gotten very invested in this contest. She entered us into a contest with Variety Magazine for couples. We have survived multiple eliminations and have a chance to make the final 4.

You vote through Facebook and can vote every day. Here is us below. You can vote on that link. You can also purchase votes by donating to the LA food bank. I'm not asking anyone to do that but we could use your free votes. This round ends today.

Done!
It looks like you don't *have* to vote through Facebook but they want to verify the voter, which can be done through FB or through Google (I think)

Update and a few corrections on the Fill the Basket event. Last year they raised about $140k with only a $35k goal. Today the goal was $200k and a total of $162,914 was raised for Kids Food Basket between 6am and 6pm! Not bad at all! I believe that means 2 more schools will be taken off the waiting list :wee :celebrate :ya

In more on topic news, I soaked Esme's and Gytha's feet today and they were both very good. Gytha barely fought at all and she relaxed big time after a few minutes. I wonder if it felt good? Esme complained a lot more than Gytha did which surprised me. I'll do another soak tomorrow ☺️

Things are becoming calmer and the new Buckeye "Nomads" aren't getting chased around so much. The B.O. Spuds and leader Buckeye Hazel are more or less doing their normal routines, with Nomad-chasing a side sport. Maybe in a while the new Buckeyes will be Nomads no more!

This was from a couple of days ago, they are the dark figures resting behind the Bigs' coop ladder and in the left front corner. They aren't concealing themselves so much now around the Bigs, and not immediately running, they seem to be assessing the Bigs' body language for threat level.
