I have three hens (of which one is still junior) that won't hatch their eggs. I have tried everything to try to get them broody, but even when they make nests, they aren't able to incubate them to term. They start sitting on their eggs, and they are very attentive and careful for the first two weeks and last few days, but in between they lose interest and let their eggs chill/die. All of them were raised by me in the house, so I was wondering if them having no contact with their mothers and not having been raised like ducks had something to do with it? I also have a drake who was raised alone in the house, so he didn't know that he was a duck until he was several months old. He was mortified of other ducks until I managed to integrate him into my flock, and since he's grown into my biggest drake. The issue is, he won't mate with my hens. Several times I have picked him up now and he tries to mount my arm. Is there any chance that I'm going to get babies from him?
