I'm in too ~ I'm warming up my incubator right now and hope to have the eggs in later today. They will be blue and splash Ameraucana and EEs which are Ameraucana/Cuckoo Marans x Ameraucana mix. This will be my 3 hatch this spring. I will post pictures after I get them set.
I also have a broody EE that started sitting on some Ameraucana eggs yesterday. This is her first time broody, so I'm not sure how she will do.
I just put 9 black copper eggs I bought on eBay under my broody Welsummer hen, Stella. She's been sitting on ceramic eggs for a week so I thought I'd give it a try. So I'm a day behind you but pretty close. She takes a short break every morning so that's when I made the switch. This is my first experiment with hatching. I have heard that bcm are hard to candle, being so dark...
Ooo, will have to get a photo! I've joined the 15 April hatch along as I'd set Turkey eggs on that date. I set some chicken eggs along side them yesterday so now have a very full incubator. I've got the Brinsea Eco 20 with cradle. I've squeezed 12 turkey eggs along side 5 barn yard mixes and 6 hubbard meaties. This is my first time incubating eggs and I'm very excited but also extremely nervous and scared that none will hatch. Desperately after those turkeys though - really want to raise our own Christmas bird!
I've been moaning something rotten to anyone who'll listen about how slowly this hatch is going but I'm over a quarter of the way there now so I'm finally feeling like I'm making progress - this last week has possibly been the longest of my life lol!
i set I set 21 eggs yesterday 11 frizzle cochins, 4 silkies, 4 japanese bantams and 2 barnyard mixes!!
will post a pic as soon as my camera finishes charging ) Rebel gotta ty for the adivse about putting the fan in my still air bator!!! Whoa what a difference!! TY TY TY!!!!
Set a dozen BCM eggs I bought from a fellow BYCer this a.m. They are gorgeous! I am so excited to have them - hoping and praying the P.O. didn't scramble them! Update upon candling
