Recently while standing in line at I gas station I overheard I conversation between two individuals where one was lamenting the fact that he had been applying for jobs everywhere and was unable to find any work. He had HUGE black plugs in both ear lobes with a 1/2 dozen rings per ear. Both eyebrows. his nose, and his bottom lip had rings, plus as he spoke with a slight lisp you couldn't help but see the barbell looking thing he had in his tongue. Not knowing him I couldn't tell you if he was a nice person or a good worker, but I couldn't help thinking I wouldn't hire someone to work for and represent my company when he looked like he had fallen face first into a tackle box. I guess I shouldn't judge people by their appearance but I also have to consider will my customers judge my employees by their appearance. I guess the point I'm making that before getting any piercing, besides the health aspects, you should consider how will it affect your employability.

i dnt pitty his situation at all. if your really gonna get that many be prepaired to be turned down for some jobs. a few is okay, but when your face is completly taken up in metal, your going a bit far. and i can always take out the piercing.

Rofl "fell face first into a tackle box," that's great. Mind if I use that sometime? That's a perfect way of describing it!

Anywho, don't pierce your nose yourself... Not just no but HECK NO! You do it wrong you're screwed, get a pro to do it, if you must.

At the very least though most piercings are removable, and most employers wont throw out an application based on a scar. However if you get the word 'stupid' tattooed on your forehead, your kind of out of luck.

Again I must post that it pays to take your time and use your brain before getting something thats going to last a lifetime.

Thanks for saying it!

Saw a young man at the health club a few months back. 8-Ball on the back of one hand, skull on the other, some sort of oriental something or other on his neck, pierced eye brows, ears, lip and nose. Had like a bone stuck in his nose.

My first thought he was when he grew up, what in the world wa he going to do for a living, OB-GYN, lawyer, oh yeah maybe an accountant.

Obviously he hadn't tried seeking employment at the Mall's head shops, I've gone into some of them looking for T-shirts of Rock bands etc. and noticed they hire clerks that would be right at home in a freak show.
