Good morning everyone from Northern NH.

Hello everyone. I'm new here but not to chickens. I cant wait to read all your wonderful suggestions. Currently waiting on a batch of Narragansett Turkeys to hatch. Also I have a quick question. I received my meat birds along with a free laying breed chicken from the hatchery this week. It appears to be a Houdan does anyone have experience with this breed its a first for me? Thanks so much

Houdans are so adorable, similar to Polish. Goofy and adorable, mainly ornamental. But what a fun addition to your flock! Hope to add some of these to our flock down the road just for fun. I don't think they are especially productive layers.

Hope you'll share pics of your turkeys when they hatch! I have been wanting heritage breed turkeys for some time.

This little houdan chick is already a hoot. I will share pictures as it grows. I cant wait for my turkeys to hatch. It looks like 9 out of the 12 are going to hatch. I will keep you all posted and share some pictures!! ❤

Your chick has made my "nothing going right" sort of morning better - thanks for sharing!

I’m kinda new at the chickens and really want to add some turkeys to my flock. Is this your first batch of turkeys? How do you like raising them? I live with my daughter and she was afraid of my chickens for the longest time. Not sure how she’s going to react to turkeys but I really want some.

I love my turkeys they are very very friendly and loving birds. I have raised them for awhile. Turkeys can be intimidating to some people because they are large and don't know how to social distance haha. But I would recommend the Narragansett turkeys to anyone they are wonderful to eat but also great pets.
