Good morning from Grays Harbor in Washington State!

I have 18 Wyandotte Chickens I purchased at the feed store. I wasn't expecting them all to survive for some reason, but they did. I'm not a big fan of feedstore chicks just because I prefer chicks raised by their mama. I don't know yet if they are all hens but we are now getting 11 eggs a day so at least that many are hens. Hopefully there are one or two roosters in the bunch. anything after that will go in the freezer. I enjoy watching them as they scratch around in the field and go to roost at night. One always manages to get out so every evening we have to walk it to the gate so it can join the others for the night.

Hello, and welcome to BYC. If your pullets are laying, I would expect that any cockerels would be crowing by now.

You likely have all pullets if you've not heard crowing and seen no mating.

I'll listen for one , this breed seems to be slow developing on that score.
