Understanding the benefits of knowing your neighbor is very vital. By doing so, you will reap the advantages of a happier and healthier life. If you would like a good neighbor, be a great neighbor.

My neighbors awesome we rescued our ducks from starvation after they were dumped. We couldn't keep them on my yard bc my dog is a gaurs dog. my neighbors let us keep them in their old goat pen until the goats come in the summer. She even takes care of them on my dance and drama club nights!

Can't ya'll build a pen and run for your ducks to protect them from your dog? a nice fenced in area so they can be outside and safe from preds.

I have miniature dachshunds and boy do they bark, doesn't bother the ducks in the least, actually puts them on alert to look around for danger. They aren't barking at the ducks though.

I like that idea. If they were safe from your dog, then the dog being there might keep some of the other dogs and wild animals away, too.

I highly doubt the ducks would be bothered by the dog barking. My ducks used to hear my old dog bark A LOT. And they never cared. My current dogs are on the other side of a fence, they are not barkers, but the ducks must know they are over there. They are not intimidated by their movement or close proximity. They must realize dogs cannot reach them. I think the dogs barking is much less of problem for the ducks than being in a pen with goats that might not appreciate them or being in an unsecured area when a predator might get them. Building a pen is a good idea. Then if the dog is confined, you can let them out to roam a bit if you are there to watch them.

Okay my dog would probably go up to the pen and bark but if y'all think they will be okay I might do that. She chases ducks so I hope they are okay.
