good news and a slight concern..!

Just checked on them again, Clove seems to internally pipped! I talked to him again and I heard tapping noises! That's surprising because Clove is the runt and was the one behind.
Lilac is still having trouble getting through the air cell and I'm not sure if she turned around but I haven't seen any bruises yet.
Lovebug seems to be still trying to get through and hasn't given up! Didn't hear any tapping noises or peeps from Lovebug.

I'm going to play some duckling noises to encourage them. After how many hours until I make a safety hole for Clove if he hasn't externally pipped? I've seen 24 hours, 48 hours, not entirely sure what to go with. And would I make the safety hole in the air cell hes in or the air cell at the top?
I'm assuming the air cell hes in lol, just hope I won't have to because I don't want to hit him on accident, he seems all the way in!
24 hours after internal pip, a safety hole is a good idea. But you need to know which air cell he has pipped into. Hopefully he will be able to hatch himself though

Clove has definitely internally pipped! And he internally pipped in the bottom air cell.
Lilac either is taking a break or giving up, I can see a very very faint shadow in the air cell but no trying to internally pip at all (she looked like this around 2pm too) but I candled the top and can still see her moving.
Lovebug is trying her best to get through the air cell, you can see her little beak pushing and everything but no tapping her peeping from her yet. I'm playing duckling noises and I can see Clove and Lovebug's eggs rocking/rolling around.
Hopefully they'll all make it!

It’s totally normal for them to hatch hours apart even a day or two so don’t get to worried about they breaks
They usually show shadowing a day it two before the internal pip happens
With the one that internal pipped because it’s a call duck and they usually have trouble I would look for the beak then make a tiny pin hole
I usually use a tack and leave it tiny
Many of mine have still ended up external on their own after I made the small safety hole
They say 24 hours after internal if you have seen an external pip yet
Call ducks maybe different
I’ll tag @WVduckchick
Hopefully she is able to get on to give a little advice
Never wait 48 after internal pip that’s way to long 24 is good and if you are really worried and know for sure he is in the air cell I would give the little safety hole 18-24 hours

Uh well I went to check Lilac and Lovebug for internal pips before I go to sleep and I told myself I wouldn't candle Clove but something told me to so I did.
I was about to kind of see the air cell but also blinded myself with the flashlight lol and uh.. I saw two beak-like shapes moving in the air cell.. now as fake as that sounds I don't have any other explanation for what it was.

I saw one beak-like shape moving in the air cell and then I saw another one and I saw them move together at the same time and also move at different times.
It could explain why it grew so slowly despite being put in at the same time as the others.
I'm not saying I have twins but maybe I do..? I doubt it but I guess we'll just have to wait!

I can see why it appears that way- But thats very unlikely, you would have been able to see much earlier if you had twins. They also dont usually pip the same air cell.
candling can play tricks on us, it isnt easy to see what is going on inside that egg- I imagine you saw one beak and a wing, or foot. Perhaps he is malpositioned. Or another possibility is deformity, but that is also unlikely in my opinion. Just keep a close eye on him and look out for that external pip. Otherwise he's going to need a safety hole soon

Yeah I agree it's unlikely and I was thinking it could be a wing or foot, not sure why it'd look so beak-like but its more than possible it was just a wing or foot.
If I calculated correctly, if he hasn't externally pipped by 9am-10am, I need to make a safety hole (he internally pipped at 10am yesterday)
And he hasn't externally pipped yet so should I make a safety hole within the next hour or now?

Im not in the same time zone as you are, so not sure what time it is right now for you. But yes, if he hasnt pipped the shell by about 9am, definitely do a safety hole for him. Candle first to make sure he isnt in the way, and be slow and gentle.

I've made a safety hole and the membrane is white and he seems to be shrink wrapped. Should I open the hole bigger and put coconut oil on it?

Clove tricked me!! Clove didn't even internally pip!!
Clove is still good, I've wet the membrane with coconut oil but I can see him pushing on the second air cell.. not sure what to do now.
I've put him back for now, here is a picture I took (might be blurry, camera wouldn't focus)
(also had to use flash since it was hard to see)

I'm thinking the second "beak" was the elbow of his wing!
Should I wait and see if he gets through the second air cell and make a hole there or? I didn't want to make this hole so big but I had to so I could wet the membrane.

just leave him be for now. You'll need to keep re-applying coconut oil to the membrane every hour to two, though. Don't let that dry out.
