Hey yall! I actually just posted my intro yesterday not expecting any eggs to hatch at all. Our tree fell down three days ago and cut the power out for four hours, plus I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing half the time lol. So, naturally, I assumed I’d done a rotten job since I had a hard time candling the eggs and determining if they were viable or not

Well despite it all, my first baby came into the world at 11pm last night! :love:yesss:

Within 30 minutes of the first big crack in the shell, a chick was born into the world! I love him so much already and I’ve named him “Torchic”.

Just wondering, I think I see some rocking in a couple other eggs but;

1: Will he be okay all alone in the incubator waiting for the other eggs to possibly hatch?

2: He’s a rambunctious one and he keeps rolling the eggs over and knocking into them 😭 are my other eggs gonna be able to hatch with him running amok?

3: Will the others potentially hatch sooner because he’s out and about chirping?

Thank you in advance! I’m so excited and nervous I feel like a new parent haha. This forum and its member have been so sweet and helpful so far, thank you :jumpy❤️

I hope everyone who comes across this has a beautiful, happy day today!

Wow, Riley, you did it! Congrats!

Yes, he's fine in there. The eggs will be fine too. I've had 30 eggs sitting there with three chicks running around in them before, and I cringe, but know they'll all be fine. :)

They do say a chirping chick encourages the unhatched ones that are ready to pip, to work a little harder. I don't know if it's true or not.
