Ok, here's what I came up with. It should work ok for my two girls.
I'm ALMOST done. I just have to put hinges on the lid and figure out how to keep it locked, I have to build a roost, and put the final panel of wire on the top. (That will be the absolute last thing that I do!)
I also have to figure out how to attach the run to the dog house. If I could remove it then moving it would be a whole lot easier.
Wow! It looks really nice! Is there a way to cut a vent in? I am using a very old, ugly but sturdy, dog house. I am hoping to acquire a new 'doghouse' hen houses for Christmas. Let us know how your chickens like yours, ok? Could you attach hooks to the house and "eyes" to the run, for easy attaching and detaching?

If you look at the first pic you can see that I put a board across the top of the door and drilled about 5 1" holes in it for ventilation which were then covered with hardware cloth. I was looking at vents at Home Depot, and they would have worked, but I didn't have the right kind of saw to install one.
