Good store north of Houston?

Hi Amyquilt - I have been told that TSC has a protical for their feed and from what I understand it has been brought to managements attention, but I belive it has feel on deaf ears and blind eyes, because the problem still have a problem.

They have an excellet selection of other chicken related supplies such as feeders, waters, bators and egg turners. The have Oyster & Chicken/Chick grit... Those items are in sealed plastic bags, but I'm still not secure with even purchasing that... I don't mean to slam the store, but bugs are bugs and I don't want to bring any home...

Hey Dennis -

Purchased my first 6 chicks from Conroe Feeders Supply. The are about 11 weeks old. I got 2 Orp Buffs, 2 NH Reds, & 2 Barred rocks. Between $3.30 & $3.40 depending on which you pick.

They carry Purina feed... the price is only a .50 cent difference from Jed's and they also have the DE... No that is a bit pricey, but after paying shipping charges it works out the same for a 40# bag.

Now over at Jed's we got the 1/2 x 1/2 hard wire. We purchased the last two rolls of 100 feet rolls of 48 & 24 inches, but I'm sure you can call and they will order it for you if you need that much. They have some open rolls too if you don't need that much. Our run is going to be 12 x 15 ft... so DH has figured it down to the inch so I don't have to go by more.

As for a all in one store, Conroe is he one that has everything and Jed's will do for feed in a pinch not that we've purchased the hard wire.

The next time we visit friends in the Magnolia/Woodland's area, we will check out the store on 2978.

Thanks for all the tips and various locations posted.

For those wanting DE and are in the tomball area, D&D carries it in two sizes. As for everyone else just ask your local feed stores, I have never had a problem with any of mine being willing to try any product for a while. I always bring them in the reading material on the product and let them know that I will tell my friends where they can now receive it. Most of the time they are thankful for the info.

I used to live in Houston but moved to NC a few years ago. I shop at several TSC stores here and have never seen bugs in the stores. I'm guessing the problem is related to a particular store. I have no affiliation with the TSC stores.

also circle s on 2978 is a pretty neat little store they carry all sorts of wire for much less than most other places they are right between caraway ln and the firestation
