Good treats for baby chicks?

these are some things mine love.

Green beans
Lima bean
mealworms I order from rainbow mealworms they have the best quality live mealworms in my opinion
scrambled eggs
Grass clippings
shredded apples
crushed pecans (very finely crushed)
and that's all I have tried. I normally give them 1 treat per day to prevent diarrhea, and I do it first thing in the morning so they get in a routine. its really adorable because now they expect a treat in the morning and I can just feel their little eyes on me until I feed them.

My chicks LOVED mealworms, they would take them out of my hand and then run as far away as they could from the other chicks so they could eat it in peace. Sometimes it would wiggle away and the chick would chase right after it! It was such a sight!!

I have only tried Mealworms with my 2 week old chicks, half of them go nuts and try to eat my fingers before I can even get a worm out but the other half do not seem interested in the treats yet. I think they are missing out but the other half I think are glad they are not into the worms, more for them. A lot of great ideas for other treats thank you all.

My chicks are between about 4-7 weeks old. I've tried giving them a bunch of different treats, but really the only thing they've liked much has been rolled oats (uncooked.) They love those. And, they caught a couple of moths outside today, which they were VERY VERY excited to eat.

I'm really hoping they'll be into some leftover produce and table scraps when they get older, but so far, not much interest. I wonder if they'll naturally get more adventurous as they grow, or do I need to try presenting treats in a certain way to be sure they realize it's good to eat?

As they get older, they get more daring. My girls were straight feed eaters, then when they were old enough to start being outside, they found the joys of crickets. Now they try to eat anything that is new to them. Of course, they are almost a year now. I love the chickies, but I save treats for when they are older.

What I have learned with my chickens as they've grown is that these types of things they don't view as "treats," more like just regular food. If I scatter it on the floor of their run, they won't really be too excited about it, but it's usually disappeared by the end of the day. They don't really seem interested in it, but they eat it eventually.

Both of these are helpful things to hear :)

I like being able to offer a little bit of some "high value" food to entice them to do what I want at times. So far, they aren't interested in dried mealworms, little bits of pasta, strawberries, sweet potato, or sunflower seeds. They do like rolled oats and any little crawly things they can catch outdoors.

I will just chill, offer the oats when I occasionally need a bribe, and wait until they're older before I try to turn them into my kitchen dispoz-all

Hello!
I will be a chick parent soon - 1 1/2 weeks to go before we have them.
But I love reading up in the Learning Center and everything else informative
I didn't know I can feed different treats at their young age and now i'm excited to see which treats will be their favorite
