Good vacation areas?

Sorry just thought about this after I posted....

My favorite vacation spot is the San Juan Islands near the Washington/Canadian Border. Unbelievably beautiful.

And of course my happy place in the whole world is Alaska. Someday, somehow I want to live up there.

Gotta second jeaucamom's response - Northern California is so diverse - coast or mountains within a few hours drive. Lots of history, museums, outdoor activities. Southern California's not so bad either. I know you said your family doesn't really like theme parks, but you really can't go wrong with a day at Disneyland! Yep, California is the place to go:) (Okay, being CA born and bred, I am a bit partial:P)

Thanks everyone! I love the ideas so far! I'm definitely going to pass them along to my dad. I know he will like them as well.

I mentioned both california and arizona, but didn't really know what kinds of things we could do there. I might just have to research it more! Alaska sounds beautiful too. I always forget about alaska! LOL

Keep 'em coming!

salem south carolina ?? there is nothing, nothing there, we went to saphire and went to wight water falls which is right by north carolina and it looked depressing.
