Well, I know it is right across the bridge from New Orleans. The food is fabulous, the people are lively, friendly, easy going and hard working. I was born around St Francisville and ALL my family is there. You will like it. Never a dull moment, guarentee you. AAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Sorry but the American Heritage ditionary defined fowl as the following:

"fowl (foul) KEY

NOUN:
pl. fowl or fowls
Any of various birds of the order Galliformes, especially the common, widely domesticated chicken (Gallus gallus).

1. A bird, such as the duck, goose, turkey, or pheasant, that is used as food or hunted as game.
2. The flesh of such birds used as food.
3. A bird of any kind. "

But I agree have a few as inside pets! Or to heck with them put up a stockade fence.

Call the councilman and ask if you can get a couple of fancy pet miniature chickens? It's what I'm trying to do... so you can get a "variance" (I had to look it up when someone told me to try and get one.... I'm unlearned about these things apparently)

lol -- I have 5 chickens in my house right now - and I'm not supposed to have any where I live - 3 roosters in that mix -- had them outside today and te one dern roo just had to crow -

hiding the roos inside in a flash --- what officer? you say someone heard a rooster? Well there are ones on the next hillside over that is county. LOL

Look for a place outside of city limits if you can!

Ohhh what do you keep them? Just like a large rabbit hutch type thing? I was thinking about that... or maybe a ferret cage that has 3 levels and ramps?

* If you get 'rare' or 'endangered' breed chickens you can possibly get an exotic pet permit. I just had a former city councilman here tell me, "Anything at all depends on what you call it." SO, find yourself a friendly c.c. and ask him/her what they would call chickens if they planned on having them in the city. . . .
