So my rooster has always been pecking at his feathers aka cleaning himself. When he does, these white flakes come out and I'll find them all around where he was sitting on the floor. They look like dandruff on steroids lol. This is probably normal but can someone explain this to me? What are those white flakes and why?

Same with my girls. I think they're just feather particles and stuff produced from their frequent dust bathing and preening.
