Boy, the cost per egg skyrockets when you have to figure in an ER visit!

Hope you heal well and soon.

Getting chomped by a goose is just part of the love they have to give us

Or, being beaten into a nosebleed with a wing (yep, my nose cartilage still squeaks).

About the only time I cannot find love and forgiveness for my bitey goose behavior is with my 18 month old grandson. When he is seven or eight, then I figure he'll be old and smart enough to save himself. Until then, I don't let them play together.

My gander Petey, during breeding season, covered me with bruises and blood blisters. Well, I had a few. Before and after breeding season, he is somewhat bitey but leaves no marks. Some geese continue on through the year, but dang it, they have no other way of keeping themselves together, you know? It's not like they can fly away.

I used to threaten my old gander Pinhead with becoming the Christmas goose too

, he was one of those year round butthead thigh biters. Sneaking up behind you attack geese type. I never stopped loving him, even when I was howling in pain. I don't really understand that.

I'd give her one more chance. If there is ever a repeat of the behavior she would go in the pot immediately after. I have no use for animals that bite the hand that feeds them... no matter how cute they are.
Good luck. Geese can be tough.

don't think theres nothing funnier than an ornery goose. I laugh myself to death whenever my geese bite or get aggressive towards me. I would take her off your hands in a heartbeat! I grabbed my goose by the neck yesterday for a hug but only received a good wing thrashing. ouch

I have to agree with Kim, getting chomped IS part of the love our goosey friends bestow on us however, when they start chomping on other feathered friends that's a different matter.
I'm sorry to report Chubby has now gone to a new home, after she gave Jack a good hiding, and anyone who knows about Jack will understand that he is and always will be the top goose in our house (literally!!!)
Nibbler also had to go after attacking the runner ducks, but she is living just down the road with a lovely family and keeps up with Jack on Facebook!!!
The bruises are fading now and my hand doesn't hurt anymore!!!

I think that the only animal I am really afraid of are Geese. I would rather face a bear than a goose.
