Goose attacked and now holding neck far back. Will she be OK?

Two nights ago our goose was attacked. I treated her wounds (one on the front right of her chest, one under her wing, and one on her back near her neck). Yesterday she rested -- would not eat more than a few meal worms. She is drinking. This morning she seemed more energetic. I took her outside to evaluate her mobility. She can walk, but I noticed a huge bulge on her chest. It felt like a balloon -- we got advice that it was a ruptured air sack. I bled it with a syringe. I think I got most of the air, but probably not all. She's stopped honking (she may try, but isn't able to get sound out).

She still has a bit of a ball, and not we're realizing that she is holding her neck way far back. We spoke on the phone to a regular vet on the phone, and they said likely damaged muscle flexors. They said she needed surgery to suture the muscles back together. I can't afford that. She's a farm animal.

Can I get a second opinion? Any chance she'll heal or does she need to be culled?

And pics. The pic in which she is sitting in the black box was after using the syringe to get air out.

Since you aren't able to take her to a vet, I think the best you can do is provide supportive care and hopefully, she will recover, geese are resilient birds after all. I would keep her in a secure pen up so she doesn't further damage anything or get attacked again, adding some poultry vitamins to her water may help also.

I agree for now supportive care is best. She is going to be sore so making her a gruel out of her feed with nice warm water may help her eat. They are usually in shock for at least 24 hrs after an attack. So give her time and support and hopefully she'll get over this. You cleaned her wounds good? Keep her safe and give her time.

Hi, there. Just checking in to see how your bird is doing. Updates to these threads are quite helpful for people in the future experiencing the same problem.
