Goose barn bedding

I pen up my geese in a 8ft by 16ft metal pole shed with a dirt floor at night. I have sand and creek pebbles on the floor and it seems to keep it dry. Its on a slope too. Is there any other suggestions to add to the floor mix? Pea gravel?

Mine sleep on straw at night.

You can't go wrong adding some pea gravel. Anything to facilitate drainage is good.

I use pine shavings in my two barn stalls where the geese spend their nights. It seems to work out pretty well.

I use straw because I had goslings and chick eat shavings with bad results-HOWEVER other people have had great luck with geese and shavings.
The great thing about straw is if you have a veggie garden, the soiled straw makes great mulch. Shavings are better mulch for acid loving plants.
