It was the second one out of 11 to hatch (out of 40 eggs) and I don't recall anything odd about its hatching. I think everyone came out the correct end. No assisting. I did pull them out of the bator and into a brooder once they were clear of the eggs.
I will get some polyvisol and Niacin. The starter grower has niacin in it as well as probiotics. How much do goslings need?
The other 11 are out in the sun, in a pen, eating grass with a surrogate mom. They have food available but they prefer grass.
It hatched on the 20th so it is 3 days old today. The spinning started yesterday. My husband wondered if it had something like inner ear or fluid in the ears from hatching and maybe it will clear up in time. When it is sleeping it is perfectly still. It does find the food and water. It may have to be culled. I have a lot of large animals (goats, cows) it wouldn't be able to "get out of the way of" if its a spinning adult.
