They are on purina non medicated feed but just hatched yesterday so not a feed issue yet.

Check the feed label. Does it list either Niacin or a B vitamin? I am guessing that it is Purina chick feed? If so you really need to add Niacin since water fowl need more than chickens do. Beyond that it is always possible that the little one may have suffered some injury or oxygen deprivation during hatching that has caused this behavior. Keep a very close eye on him and if he does not improve you may have to make the decision as to what quality of life he may have if he survives.

It's almost like a seizure I'd get some vitamins asap Poultry Nutri Drench can be given straight into the mouth and goes right into the blood stream doesn't have to go through the gut. Also pick up some Brewers yeast you never know when one will be hatched this way better to start them all on the extra niacin chick starter doesn't have enough for water fowl. Some use Super B complex for problems like this or Poly Vi Sol with out iron just a drop inside the mouth 2X a day, I like things that are made for the species we're dealing with.

It was the second one out of 11 to hatch (out of 40 eggs) and I don't recall anything odd about its hatching. I think everyone came out the correct end. No assisting. I did pull them out of the bator and into a brooder once they were clear of the eggs.
I will get some polyvisol and Niacin. The starter grower has niacin in it as well as probiotics. How much do goslings need?
The other 11 are out in the sun, in a pen, eating grass with a surrogate mom. They have food available but they prefer grass.
It hatched on the 20th so it is 3 days old today. The spinning started yesterday. My husband wondered if it had something like inner ear or fluid in the ears from hatching and maybe it will clear up in time. When it is sleeping it is perfectly still. It does find the food and water. It may have to be culled. I have a lot of large animals (goats, cows) it wouldn't be able to "get out of the way of" if its a spinning adult.

Don't give up on it yet. Niacin "plain ' or brewers yeast Niacin should be started with 100 megs ti 1 gal of water safe for all to drink. BY 1 Tab to 1 cup of feed. poly Vi Sol 1drop 2X a day and be sure it is the one with out iron. Let us know how it is doing. Who is the surrogate mom?

I had two ducklings to do this. Walked in circles every where they went as babies. Once they got older they did it only when excited or surprised. Although they all need niacin, it didnt help mine. They had a nice life while here. One lived to be 8 mos old the other lived to be 1yr & 10 mos. Both died in their sleep without any struggles. As far as we could figure out, since they were both wrong end pippers it was sort of brain damage. Lack of oxygen when they missed pipping into the aircell. While they were here they used my female duck as a guide duck. They were always able to touch her when walking with her and if they wondered off she would go find them and bring them back. Here she is leading my last one around the yard.

I remember when you had those ducklings hatch 8, This lil one could have neurological problems but maybe with time and some vitamins it can grow out of it. Time will tell. Unless they feel it would be best to put it down.

I wouldnt put it down. It has a chance and atleast its standing. It took mine a month to be able to stand more then a few minutes at a time. It is possible for it to have a decent life!!

I bought the poly vi sol but haven't found any Brewers yeast yet. I came home and gave it the vitamins about 5pm now it's doing air snapping. Like it's after invisible bugs. I am giving it a chance. I brought it in the kitchen. With a buddy so I could check more often.
