I bet that Sammy and Missy would be great parents. Boris was a good adoptive father. Now he has the 2 girls and could not be happier.

flockman how are you doing? Hope well... I know you are proud of your geese as we all are. No matter what breed it is wonderful to have other people to talk with, with the love and passion we have for our geese!!! We seem to be the prouder parents then the geese!!!

OKay Sam is starting to go into bitie mode, Becoming Missy protector, of what I have no idea. He bit me yesterday morning the lil stinker, I was squatting down filling their bowl So I raised up put my arms out and over my head and backed that bugger up he was falling over his big feet. Are ya'll beginning to see the change yet?
and honestly I am not sure I can let them have goslings, My housing is maxed out and not sure if there is a market [not for food] but just for pleasure of geese here where I live, and then how can I part with them? I'm sick, I need help

Yes, Miss Lydia I am having different ganders chasing each other and it is a bit early to do so.

Hi Lydia, I got pecked once by a miserable toulouse gander that had been hand-reared with only chickens around. Had no fear of anyone, in fact most people in the house were frightened of him. So I took him on, but he only wanted to cause disturbance, and he was inclined to pinch. He left quite a mark on my arm one time! He didn´t stay long. The other ganders I had never tried anything on with me..only between themselves. Maybe a breed thing, I think.
Did you plan to keep any of the potential goslings, or just to sell all of them? If you´re unsure of the market but still want goslings, why not try for some Sebbies or other breed that´s more in demand? Or just leave the two to it and see what happens. He´s going to be protective of Missy whether there are goslings around or not, after all.

Seems to me your biggest problem would be parting with the goslings!!!!

Meanwhile..."spot the gosling"! This is the new mom, and the other goslings are hidden in the feathers.

Wow that´s a strange post! 3 times repeated, don´t know why...!!
It must have thought we were all teenagers, you know how you have to repeat things to them 3 X or more. LOL I wish the pic would go bigger when clicked on I may have been able to see the lil goslings better that is so cute peaking through her feathers. She looks very content.

And yes by big problem is parting with the littles once they hatch. Now if I could get dh to build me a big barn.. Naw he already said no more houses.

Very funny....and my teenager doesn´t listen, and then looks at me as if I´m from another planet because I IMAGINE I say things to him!!

I must admit I´m rather spoiled here for having birds because I have plenty of space for them, and I´m usually the one who makes shelters and things for them. Not that I´m any good, but when I get stuck, hubby helps me out. He´s extremely patient and also likes the birds.

I only put the photos on small because I´ve never managed to get the larger ones posted, the internet here just can´t cope with it. I think if you click on it, it´ll go bigger.
