Very funny....and my teenager doesn´t listen, and then looks at me as if I´m from another planet because I IMAGINE I say things to him!!

I must admit I´m rather spoiled here for having birds because I have plenty of space for them, and I´m usually the one who makes shelters and things for them. Not that I´m any good, but when I get stuck, hubby helps me out. He´s extremely patient and also likes the birds.

I only put the photos on small because I´ve never managed to get the larger ones posted, the internet here just can´t cope with it. I think if you click on it, it´ll go bigger.
Nope I tried it but that's okay I could still see them under her feathers.

Actually it's them who are from outer space. Listen it's been along time since my children were teens but it's forever etched in my mind how they are tone deaf to our voices only. LOL My grandchildren also.

You don't even have to lock your flock up at night right? oh mine would be all eaten or killed by weeks end. And we live on the side of a mt. so not much flat ground for building, All my ducks chickens and goose houses are right next to our home. If I get any more animals before some of these start going on we'll have to switch houses with them. I can see Sammy now sitting in my dh's recliner with his feet up remote in his wing sipping on a glass of wine. Missy of course would be in the kitchen and the Muscovy's would have the bedrooms, the waterfowl would not let the chickens into the house.

I already had 2 teenage daughters when my son was born. My girls were pretty easy going by what I heard from other mothers. My son is, too, really, he´s just usually too tired to get up, to put something away, to go to bed, or...to listen!!!
lol.png
But he did show a lot of interest in getting that little gosling to eat, and he feels so good about it, too. Satisfaction not found in an x-box game!

Yes, my birds sleep out at night, just as if in the wild. I have fencing around, mostly to deter any possible stray dogs. Everyone around here has birds of some sort and other livestock, so the dogs here are not really a threat. Wildlife like jaguars and maned wolves and wild dogs and cats are rarely seen around here as it´s been farmed for about a hundred and fiftly years. Those animals went with the Atlantic Rainforest when it was being chopped down for farming sugar, coffee, now corn. A guy about half-an-hour´s drive from here keeps turkeys and geese and chickens out free-range and managed to get a photo of a mountain lion/cougar passing through his property during the night, but it doesn´t seem to bother his animals there. The risk is quite small. I suppose hawks and snakes would present the biggest risk, so when they´re small the little ones do better in an enclosure for a while. I can also control their eating better.
I´ll have another try at posting a bigger pic next time the internet is going faster. Usually it times-out because it´s taking so long to load!!!

Funny just a typical teen, but I bet he likes to eat. and that was sweet of him to work with the lil gosling and get it to eat. Does he go to school there?

He´s always loved birds and animals, and living here out of the town isn´t much of a problem to him like it would be to a lot of youngsters. He started school here when he was 10 or 11, and finishes school in December. He has done well, and wants to rest next year!

I breed brahmas, too, so maybe I´ll get him more interested in those, then he can help me with the birds......

So ya'll have lived there a good while, he probably speaks fluent Portuguese isn't that the language? I'm thinking I saw you post that. Wants to Rest?? that's funny. Yes get him involved in the birds so much better than the opposite sex.

Well, he´s 6´3", dark-haired, slim, beautiful big blue eyes and English....very popular!
love.gif
But he keeps his cool with the girls...

Mr Cool, just smiles a lot and does his own thing with his mates.
highfive.gif
That´s good.

And we´re getting a veg plot going too, he´s going to look after that. My main idea is to grow enough lettuce and stuff to feed the goslings, instead of buying it, but it´ll keep the lad busy too, I hope....just have to let him plant something that he likes but geese won´t eat, to keep him interested!

As regards portuguese, we all speak it, it´s a necessity, but our son speaks it so well that sometimes people think he was born here. So he´s really bilingual. Actually, there´s another language he speaks: "I´m hungry!"
He´ll probably get work as an interpreter...once he gets over his rest!!!!!!

Oh my he sounds delightful. Once he gets over his years rest of making garden, he'll be ready for the big world I'm sure, How far are ya'll from any large cities? I do well remember that hungry language actually my son who is 46 still speaks it when he comes for supper, He can still put away the food. I really need to teach my dh and son how to care for my flock, they really haven't been involved in any of the caring part just some of the building.

flockman how are you doing? Hope well... I know you are proud of your geese as we all are. No matter what breed it is wonderful to have other people to talk with, with the love and passion we have for our geese!!! We seem to be the prouder parents then the geese!!! :)
Yes I am doing well. I do so enjoy the geese. Never would have thought I would like them so much.

OKay Sam is starting to go into bitie mode, Becoming Missy protector, of what I have no idea. He bit me yesterday morning the lil stinker, I was squatting down filling their bowl So I raised up put my arms out and over my head and backed that bugger up he was falling over his big feet. Are ya'll beginning to see the change yet?
and honestly I am not sure I can let them have goslings, My housing is maxed out and not sure if there is a market [not for food] but just for pleasure of geese here where I live, and then how can I part with them? I'm sick, I need help :p    This is why I have 4 drakes.
Yes Boris has started his charging of people and really has begun to hate cars! No biting. Hopefully he respects me enough that biting is not an issue. He becomes a big bluffer with people but if you are a cat, dog, chicken, or duck watch out!

"year´s rest of making a garden"....well the "making" is actually hubby and I....hoping that the Resting One will tend it once it´s going.
We´re 4 miles from a small town, and everyone around here has either chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, pigs, cows, sheep...or a mix of these. The mall town is 2 hours´ drive north from the huge city of São Paulo.
My hubby and son are in touch with what I´m doing, and do show an interest, especially when I have little things indoors where they can´t be ignored! And they both enjoy seeing the birds around, the antics the birds get up to....chickens kicking everything off a shelf so they can lay an egg, or getting into the seedlings my hubby has been tending!, or just having a fun time splashing about in the pond. It´s such fun watching the muscovy ducklings stamping in the mud on the stream bottom to get bugs up, and the goslings when they first go into the pond. They go into crazy-mode, diving and kicking about. In the last 3 weeks we´ve had 4 chickens hatch eggs, so sweet the little bundles scratching about, and I let my turkey hatch out a couple of chicks too to keep her busy.
