January

I've got two eggs hatching now and four more that should hatch by the end of the week along with two under my goose.

I have a question.

One of my newest goslings hurt his beak while trying to get out of the shell. He had a bloody spot on the top of the beak, where you would call a growth plate type area. Anyway his beak has started to look a bit messed up and the top is a bit shorter than the bottom. So my question is: Will he grow out of this or is he permanently deformed?

My eggs under my goose have internally pipped but i cant seem to keep the goose on the nest. For some reason shes been off more than on these past few days. Is this normal?

My little disabled duckie, Flip, passed away this afternoon. He lived to be 6 wks old. I thought he was better and was going to be ok like his sibling Flop(also disabled), but he tried hard and was too tired to go on. He was such a sweetheart, i am heart broken but i know hes not suffering.

Sorry 8Geese

& I got them home & sexed them ALL GIRLS !!!!!

Which is awesome because after I sold my 1st sebbies ~ I hatched out all boys since !!!! & wished I would have kept some girls from the beginning ...... So luck has it I got them back and made a profit still

because she paid $18-$22 each for them.

Here are some I took today. I don't know how you guys get such good pics of your birds. Maybe you have more patience than me! :)

Sebs are about 8 weeks old and the Americans are about 6 weeks, I think. The Sebs are all white. Any "color" you see on them is dirt from digging holes in the yard.

And then when I'm leaving, of course they start paying attention to me.

So cute!

Very successful breeding season this year with 5 Sebastopol breeding pens. Sold day old goslings and retained around 30 goslings to grow out until fall.
Wondering now WHY I did that!

Few pics from around here.

Best wishes to everybody with their new geese and goslings!

~ From my Fritter eggs,
AND I GOT MY 1st GREY GIRL !!!! And another boy;
and a GIRL from BeeDub!

My CRACKER egg (white dewlap afri-cross)egg developed but never externally pipped, and when I cracked it open it was a WHITE African BUT it was deformed ?
(did not take a pic

)

So I am actually relieved it did not hatch. I want the strongest healthiest flock I can have, so I can provide strong healthy babies in the future

I still have one ~ possibly 2 more chances of getting a White African 1 LONE egg left for a white

I have 9 more Dewlap Eggs left and all are looking good ! Set them on the 25th

4 Prize Trio eggs

Best of luck with your upcoming hatches. Sorry your gosling got hurt. Hope he is not permanently deformed!

Sorry your disabled duck passed. I have noticed my geese will get off their nests more often or for longer stretches if it is warmer out. On the other hand, I also noticed that happening when my broody girls who were sitting on duds started giving up on the eggs.

the goslings hatch ok!

Thanks all! I can hear them clicking inside i guess if she keeps hopping off them ill break out the bator again. Shes due now through monday so ill see what happens. I ran her back in her house just to see what she would do and she went back on them and stayed. It was hot today like the last few days. I'll update if any hatch. Might be late next week, my mom has to have surgery Tuesday to remove a tumor on her brain. Wont be on much unless trying to take my mind off of whats going on.
