Okay, so... The goslings and their momma duck got caught in our pool yesterday. Lol!

I know what you mean, LB. It is too hard for me to part with those that I have raised up, which is why I am not hatching dewlaps or any ducks this year. I wouldn't even attempt to hatch any white Africans, except that my white goose keeps scaring me with her reproductive problems.

Would production toulouse 2 yr old hatch their own eggs or is it a breed that would not? We confirmed fertility and left one egg in in hopes she will lay more and sit on them. Now if they should would hatch them will the goslings be "wild" not very nice because the parents hatched them on their own?

They´re all my babies, I was just reading through the threads to try and remember what happened with them, and discovered they actually hatched only last Oct and Nov, which means they´re still only babies!!! A couple of the ganders are big babies, though!!!!
And how is your beautiful white goose? I can understand your wanting to have some little goslings though, just in case. Will any of them be from her, or all from the other one?

if you pick them up from day one, and become a part of their life, they should become very tame. Much depends on your relationship with the goose.

Speaking of big babies, my buff dewlap Toulouse goose who hatched on June 30th last year (her name is "Summer") laid her 1st egg this afternoon. The youngest of my babies is all grown up now.

The pendulum swing is not so great with my white goose this week. She's been back on pasture with her group for the last three days. She seemed to have another brief episode two days ago and we thought we'd have to put her back inside house, but she recovered quickly and has been back in full form ever since. We will probably be on pins and needles until laying season is over.

Congrats on the 1st egg from Summer. They grow up just so fast!

I am praying for you white goose J.....
