Goslings knee our knee would be too deep till atleast a month old

Have lots of hatching going on from Iain's eggs, 2 whites hatched and one that had an iffy air cell looks to make it, had 6 from Iain go to lockdown with another 4 grey dewlaps from Ohio and all except 2 are hatched. Crossing my fingers on the other 2, white definately looks to make it and the other is a needs help special case.

I have read that geese, Toulouse geese in particular, only lay on a nest once per season. My girls hatched out a few babies on a shared nest at the beginning of March. Now they have made two different nests and have both started setting again! Is this normal?

This is their first year laying, and they didn't have a good hatch/survival rate on the first nest. I ended up confiscating the last two goslings and putting them in the brooder until they started to feather and the night temps warmed above freezing.

I am hoping they have better success this time around. PS one of them took over the start of a chicken nest, so she is laying on both types of eggs.

My production Toulouse goose brooded twice last year, but she took a longer break after first round to raise up the babies.

Hi. It´s quite normal for geese to have another go when they´ve lost the first nest for whatever reason. If you leave the goslings with them it´s very unlikely they´ll nest again.
So you´ll have to keep your eyes open for chicks, then...whip them away fast when they hatch so she doesn´t think she´s hatched her own eggs! Or, better still, pop them under a broody hen so you get quick access to them. Juggling eggs! I do here! lol

Got my goslings today from Metzer. One female Toulouse went to a member who drove an hour and a half to pick her up. But he saved some money for just wanting one. An Americal Buff pair and a Toulouse pair.
