Hi. It´s quite normal for geese to have another go when they´ve lost the first nest for whatever reason. If you leave the goslings with them it´s very unlikely they´ll nest again.I have read that geese, Toulouse geese in particular, only lay on a nest once per season. My girls hatched out a few babies on a shared nest at the beginning of March. Now they have made two different nests and have both started setting again! Is this normal?

This is their first year laying, and they didn't have a good hatch/survival rate on the first nest. I ended up confiscating the last two goslings and putting them in the brooder until they started to feather and the night temps warmed above freezing.
I am hoping they have better success this time around. PS one of them took over the start of a chicken nest, so she is laying on both types of eggs.
Cute! What breed is that spotted gosling in the corner drinking??Cute Goslings! I have pics too ~ Here are my BROODY girls ~ Sitting on Chicken Eggs![]()
