GOOSE BREEDING THREAD - for breeding, incubating, hatching and rearing.

I bought the poly vi sol but haven't found any Brewers yeast yet. I came home and gave it the vitamins about 5pm now it's doing air snapping. Like it's after invisible bugs. I am giving it a chance. I brought it in the kitchen. With a buddy so I could check more often.

How is it since you gave the poly? almost looks like a neurological problem maybe something happened during incubation just hard to know, Can it find food and water oaky? but I'd keep up with the poly. Brewers yeast is available at most natural food stores and whole foods. Bless it's heart. And yours for working with it.

Thank You Danica Dream,

Miss Lydia
sorry it took so long I was birthing a calf. I will post pics/vid under other section.
I put the drops in its mouth.
It can find the food and water but has trouble making itself eat and drink.
If I hold it still and hold a cup close it does better, however I am not going to hand feed it.
If it cannot eat on its own I will cull it. I have a lot of births going on this month, I cannot be tied down to one gosling.
Sad but farm life. I will give it the vitamins twice a day and see if it improves so long as it eats on its own.

I understand.

Question about my soon to be goslings... I got a quick peek at the nest today, and I realized that Mama Goose is also sitting on chicken eggs. Are they similar in incubation time? And if/when the eggs hatch, how are the geese going to feel about chicks and goslings?

Wow... this little "sure, I'll be happy to keep the ducks, geese, and chickens" adventure is definitely a lot more than I bargained for! Talk about trial by fire!

Thanks!
Danica

Chicken hatch 19-21 days so you'll need to remove them as soon as they hatch and brood them if you want your goose to continue sitting 7 -9 more days so goslings can hatch.

Does anybody know about this disease for birds that has canceled the fur and feather show in mount forest and if it is really cancelled? Thanks and plz reply if you know anything about it

Maybe it has to do with the AI[Avian Influenza] that has been going on here in the US. Might go on your states thread and ask if anyone knows for sure. Go to Where am i where are you and look up your state thread.
