Holy cow, where are you buying your turners? Ours are 40 bucks and the kids get a 10 percent discount for 4-H.

You should turn them at least 4 times per day.
One of the big benefits of a turner is that the incubator stays closed and you dont lose humidity out of it.

I think the turners turn them about six times a day, though I'm not sure. As for losing humidity and heat when you hand turn them, Miss Prissy told me they need to be cooled for 15 minutes each day anyway, so I wouldn't worry about losing heat and humidity. If you can remember to turn them by hand at least 3 times a day, and are diligent with hand washing so as not to infect the eggs, I would save your money and buy more eggs with it. How often would you be hatching geese to really need a turner?
