Goose eggs set under broodies-Update & Pictures

No, I emailed him about that a year ago, and they emailed back that the book doesn't cover genetics. They may be including that subject in a new book somewhere down the line.

Geese need higher humidity than chickens. And they also need higher humidity during hatching. You might want to lift her off each day for 5-10 min to cool down the eggs, and then mist them, otherwise im afraid that they wont hatch. Their air sac will get to big from lack of humidity, and it will also get very rubbery, and the goslings wont be able to peck through it.

Good Luck though.

i have my very first gosling in the brooder and wo more eggs with pips.... so i cant wait to see your beautiful purebred goslings once they hatch! can u post pics of all the broodies, the eggs, and the parents?

Here we are on day 30. Still had seven eggs developing yesterday.

I went out to check today and one broody with four eggs left her nest and the eggs were cold. I candled them and didn't see any movement but still put them in the bator just in case.

Checked on the other broody who has three eggs. One egg was broke on the small end and dried hard. I took all eggs and candled. One Seb has internal pip. Nothing going on in the other egg and not holding much hope for the one with broken end. All eggs are in the hatcher.

So 12 eggs to start and I am down hoping for this one little Seb egg to hatch.

All was not loss. After the eggs warmed up in the bator, they started to move. My little seb is almost out of the shell and one of the Africans has pipped. I am so excited.
