Goose Eggs

What breed are you hatching? I'm completely new to hatching goslings but I did read they usually hatch between 28-30 days. I'm hatching a mixed breed so I'm doing lockdown on day 25 and I read that it's normal for goslings to take up to 3 days to hatch once they start. It takes them much longer than chicks. Since you have one that is almost out I would wait until it's done hatching and give it some time to fluff up in the incubator and then you can candle the other two if they still haven't pipped "externally" through the shell, to see if they have pipped "internally" through the membrane yet and see if there is still movement. Let us know how it's going!

Thanks for your information! These are Canadian Goose eggs. The mother took off. I am not new to eggs incubation as I have done chicks! I now am working on guinea, ducks and turkeys! I also found a nest of pheasant eggs where the hen took off and have them too! I raise chickens for the eggs!

Wow! That's quite the assortment of eggs! Google says that Canadian Geese take 30 days to hatch from the time you set them so if you think you're on day 28 things are still looking good for the other two! :fl
I've hatched a lot of chicks this year but I'm setting goose and duck eggs for the first time and I hope to hatch some turkeys next!
Fingers crossed for your little goslings! Keep us updated! :jumpy

The gosling has hatched! Seems to have a deformity in its leg! I have it eating and drinking and seems to be doing well health wise! Will keep in confined to a small area and see what happens. It sure is cute! The other two hasn’t hatched and thinking they will not!
