Goose has black blood blister looking places on his legs and feet any ideas!

Thank you for that information sorry fowl pox isn’t something I have much knowledge about? Do you think this could be fowl pox on this goose?
I should add though, that there is a vaccine that can be given to the uninfected birds, and that if the bird survives, it will be immune to it from then on. I was given different advice about applying iodine, and other things, but I think that only served to worsen the condition and allowing it to run it's course was the better way to go.

They have not oozed anything. If I pick at them they only thing I see is blood. I just had him back at the vet yesterday. If I have to go again I will ask him to look at them again. At least she is already quarantined so I will try to find out if I can rule that out. Thanks for the information. I will get a better picture when I go out later to give him his breathing treatment.

Hi after looking at some pictures online of Fowl Pox I agree that is what it is. Here are a few more pictures. Only one bird is back with him but so far he is not affected so I will be getting the vaccine and treating everyone on the farm. I can't thank you enough for identifying this from the pics.

I can't stress enough how important it is to quarantine the bird. I'd also contact your vet for antibiotics to add to it's water to prevent secondary infection (which is what they usually die from). You'll want to make sure that you don't cross contaminate. Feed and water your healthy birds first, then the infected one. Don't wear the same shoes or clothing when going back into the healthy birds area. Dispose of the infected birds bedding, etc in plastic bags and place in the garbage. Wear latex disposable gloves. I wish you the best of luck. I lost my sweet bird this morning after constant care for 8 weeks, but she was a baby and it's harder on the little, or old ones. Please keep us posted.

I am so sorry you lost your little Turkey. I lost my goose this morning he was very week yesterday I was afraid he had lost the battle. I do thank you that at least I know why and even though he was quarantined I will be watching all my birds for a while. I am going to let my vet know what he had so if anyone ever bring a bird in with the same bumps he will know what it is and might be able to help. Thanks again for all the help. Terri
