I usually offer food and water at about 24 hours, but dont worry if it takes another day for them to start. remember they have all that yoke to keep them happy for a while after hatch. I feed mine non medicated chick food most of the time. I do not fret if all I have is medicated on hand though. Be aware those little toe nail can help them climb, I keep mine in a covered brooder.

Well, I helped this little chick hatch this morning and it is so sweet and gorgeous. Absolutely perfect. And it is pecking at everything and has started eating. Very curious .
Can I please be so bold and make one suggestion. Could you not please post this article under all the different categories? It is such excellent information and could help so many people. Maybe not use the goose or perhaps add ducks, muscovy etc in there so that anybody who would be looking for information would be able to find this article. I had been reading up as much as I could but never came across this article. I really wish I had.

We just used this guide as the corner stone of our process and hatched 8 of 9 eggs. The 9th didn't hatch because it was totally upside down, we checked after calling it. Thanks so much! This was absolutely our saving grace, and we referenced it constantly!
