it is Lydia after not having 2 boxes show up with the first two last night. Glad our temps are low today too (low for here) makes settling in easier than having 80's we were 69 this morning at turn out.

You have done so much for all of these geese, and for those of us who adopted them. I can hear mine calling right now, because they know it is time to go in for the night. I don't know what else to say. I hate to think of you being upset for Thanksgiving, when you of all people should be able to think back with pride on your accomplishment. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.

Thank you CG, goosefan, lightning, and to the others who have sent me private messages today in support. What was supposed to be the happy grand finale to this goose rescue mission thread has taken an ironic twist, causing this story to have a sad ending. Unfortunately, it appears I did not do right by each and every goose I rescued by making poor placement decisions, but I did the best I could. At least most of them went to loving pet homes where they will be appreciated for the beautiful geese that they are!

Thanks Triplell, they did well settling in and went out front with the juveniles this evening while we started chores. They werent too sure about going in their stall tonight after spending this much of their outside 24/7. I am sure after a few days of night time routine here they will learn to enjoy the safety of the stalls at night. They are much more spastic than the others, but again just time to get use to the slow pace of things here will bring them around I am sure. They did however dive into the feed we use here with the geese, was very happy to see them enjoying it and the in-ground ponds too tonight.

get to separate them all out over the next week into a number of stalls as well, should be a fun adventUre.

I sit here tonight, sick about what has happened to the last geese I shipped. They may have to a "safe from predator" home, but not a loving home... and now I fear they may wind up in the "meat pen" after all the hard work I did to prevent that. But, as someone told me in a private message (for the 2nd time since I launched this mission)... no good deed goes unpunished.

To the many people who have flooded my inbox with support, THANK YOU!!!

I sit here tonight very happy to know I have all of the geese securely housed with plenty of fresh bedding keeping them safe from predators, including the entire meat pen who are more spoiled than many other birds. Not sure "what happened" to the last geese shipped since they are safe and secure in a 10' x 5' stall with no chance of predators getting to them. Tomorrow they will be out with three pools and all the feed they could want and lots of fellow dewlap company. Pretty good gig they have here with our year round green grass to enjoy.

Oh and thanks for all of the messages last night and all day today from those who were also worried with me over the boxes who went missing last night. One couldnt be scanned because the label had been torn where the bar code was, the other that wasn't scanned because the bar code was too faint from printing. Makes me feel better that they werent really lost after all.
