Going bonkers, I will do what I can to get pics of the feeders and post them.

Lightning, you are getting good answers on door size. Just wanted to say I think it's awesome you are going the extra mile to provide your pair a palace.

Ultasol, cute picture! I love watching my geese run around with pieces of watermelon rind in their mouths. They look like they are having a lot of fun.

Celtic, it is a bummer, but they were back for dinner feeding time, so I think they are getting over it. Whew!
I am trying really hard to do it right. I was out there yesterday in 101 degree heat tearing the old siding off the pump house. I got about 3/4 of it off and I was so tired I had to quit. I'll be replacing it with 1/2" treated plywood. I will make it like our duck house, though, with the top half of the side walls hinged so you can let them down and have the top part screened in with hardware cloth for ventilation. In the even of really bad weather, you can close them up. I can only imagine doing that if we get a hurricane, because it doesn't get cold enough here to bother the geese. I'm thinking of paneling the inside with the plastic panels that look like tile that people use in bathrooms, so cleanup will be easy. So, now I just have to figure out for sure how big to make the automatic goose door. What is the size of an adult Dewlap Toulouse, anyway?

I"m sorry the geese were mad at you after the roundup, but according to your later post it looks like they have forgiven you. So, hopefully all is well.

I would guesstimate the boys are ranging between 17-20+ lbs at this point. They stand about 2ft tall to top of head, 2ft long from chest to tail, and are close to 1.5ft wide. They fit into large dog kennels, which is how I transport them to/fro. The entrance to kennel is barely wide enough, but is roomy inside. However, they cannot stand completely upright.

They aren't going to get much taller, are they? Maybe just heavier? That does help me to know how big the birds are. I'll make the door as big as I can, but there is a limit to the weight the motor will pull up. So, they may have to duck their heads just a little on the way in and out the door.

They are full grown, but could stand to gain another 3-5 lbs. Since the adult dewlaps are on the large pasture, they are burning calories as fast as they eat so are not developing the fat rolls at the same rate as the ones in small yards around my house.

Hi everyone. Glad to know the babies are getting so big. Mine are pretty good sized, and now all the sebbies and the toulouse are running around togather.

I just posted new pics that hubby took on the dewlap african geese thread, but for those who do not visit that thread, I thought you may enjoy seeing them. Jen, of course, that big gander is yours as well as two of the girls in the pics, as marked by the orange zip ties.

They look wonderful! Thank you for posting the pictures. I know I keep saying this, but I really can't wait to get them home! Hurry up cool weather!!!

We are having our first cool front in Utah with temps low enough to ship, but not sure how long before receiving locations will cool off. I should receive the boxes today/tomorrow and will get exact weights for shipping. If all goes well, I hope to start shipping within 2 weeks!!
