Ha ha Shellie- I saw that.
All the mills around here call it something different. Most of the stuff I get comes from Faithway in AL.
Once in a while I buy game starter crumbles for chicks that have FTT, but its expensive. The 20% is like $16 and the 28% turkey starter is like $18. Ouch! I have way too many birds for that feed bill!

Here are a couple of brand new pics. The two greys on the end are one of the two available juvenile pairs.

Here is a shot of the other available grey juvenile girl. She is the one in center closest to me:

The gamebird maintenance I feed is 16%, and they have the free choice wheat and pasture. When they are growing, they need extra protein... especially if you are hoping to get them to the size and development you see in exhibition specimens.

I have had no wing issues here, other than a gander that came to me with angelwing from someone else. They were not fed right. I love to spend time watching my geese, so I am evaluating daily if the young birds are growing too fast, too slow, or if any leg or wing issues are occurring. I had a baby that hatched with gout this spring, and unfortunately nothing was able to save him. This has been my only loss. If you watch your geese, their behavior and development will tell you if what you are feeding is working. Pasture IS NOT enough for exhibition toulouse (dewlap toulouse), and pastures vary in protein level as it is depending on pasture health, rate of growth, time of the year, and the forages that make up the pasture.

Anyhow,. I don't come on here much anymore, but if people have questions about their toulouse once they get them I am happy to speak with them. If I don't know, I'll tell you I don't.

I spent most of the day with the rescued geese yesterday. They were caught, wormed, leg banded for sex and had their weight evaluated. I had just got out of the hospital so I sat in a chair like the Queen of Sheba while everyone else did the running. I then wormed, banded them for sex Dr'd any boo boos and checked that their weight was appropriate. It was such a rewarding day. Below are some of the pictures. There is still a lot of work to do with them but now we have a start. Here are some pictures of our day.

Still need some financial help. Remember even $5.00 will help a lot

Sundance so glad you were able to go give Iain some hands on help. I know she greatly appreciated it as well.

Looking forward to getting those buffs here and letting them have at the north east pasture. It need mowed again once more before we stretch the final length of fencing around it. Going to put up a loafing house in it and the Silver Appleyard ducks will run it with the buff dewlaps. I figure two flocks of large slow birds should be happy under the oaks together.

Ulta I spend hours watching our flocks also. Its a full time thing here for us. We are also fortunate to not have winter and have lush ever growing grass available. Hay prices are insane for our goats, but the weather and other conditions of the island we live on make up for that bar none. Plus the waterfowl love the summer rainy season.

Sundance, thank you for the help!!

I had a nice breakthrough with the adults this afternoon. They are starting to associate me with bringing food and actually came up to me for their grain. They are too cute for words and I know my pics (all being taken with my phone) don't do them justice. But here they are today:
