Marty, sounds like my geese, although there are a few youngsters from the rescue group that now act like the ones I have raised. Also, I named Spirit after a male character even though he was vent sexed female as a day old. I now believe he is a boy based on personality and development, but will have him dna sexed when I take him to vet to be 100% sure.

Hope this snow goes away quickly and stays away awhile longer for you. Betting the adults will be in shock mode coming here from snow if it keeps this up.

Lots of swedish flower hen chicks in the hatcher right now, 6 more eggs due in another day, then the Halloween hatch of Ancona ducks.

The forecast is promising starting Saturday and going into next week, but I have a feeling we are going to have an extremely snowy winter this year. Yesterday, when I opened coop door to let ducks out they didn't want to leave. They just stared at the snow and quacked. 5 of 7 were brave enough to venture out, but the other two stayed inside until their buddies were long gone and only then left the coop. They seemed to get over it pretty quickly, though.

Yeah- the kooks are out! I just had to call the sheriff because somebody is outside shooting again, on my property.

I can get birds shipped Priority any time, its just Express mail that gets diverted. Express actually takes longer and costs twice as much, just to avoid them being on a plane in Chattanooga. Its ridiculous. I still need a curly colored girl for my lav gander...

No, I never read that article. I remember when George McGovern ran for president, but I would never have connected him in any way with Atticus Finch.
