i did my research on tula geese years ago
My Muscovy's sumo wrestle mostly sometimes they do get bloody it;s mostly from catching their wings on the fence. I'm sure someone probably thinks Muscovy fighting is good sport and do fight them, I can't imagine using any animal for fighting for some humans amusement. same as cock fighting I feel is inhumane sorry if I offend you serv I know some folks see nothing wrong with it.

Did you ever come up with a name for that other goose you were thinking of?

I suppose it´s a bit like seeing American mustangs or Australian brumby stallions fighting. They´re quite spectacular, aren´t they? But then it´s very different to putting them in a confined space together just to see them fight. AND in the wild the loser can run away, but in a confined space it can´t, poor thing. Here my drake fights another through the fence. The other one gives up and goes off......no big deal. Sometimes it gets in, and the ganders give it a good flogging...I have to chuck it over the fence, then after a long time he comes back again to suffer more humiliation!

Miss lydia goose fights are very popular in around the middle-east area of the world and also in turkey and is becoming more popular sport ! i think force fighting geese isnt that bad but forcing roosters to fight is bloody sport :/ ive had roosters fight all the time but my guinea fowl solve that problem for me :)

I know they never know when to quit always come back for more of the same. This year my underling drake will have one younger than him to pick on so he'll feel very superior. Mine always seem to want to fight where the mud is the deepest and nastiest I think they do this in case I feel the need to break it up they can have me looking like a chocolate candy bar in minutes.

I use to break them up all the time but now i just watch and as long as no one is getting hurt [other than their pride] I just let them finish the spiff.

Yes, I think as long as there´s enough space for one to get away, it´s usually not too bad.

I also see it´s spelled Arzamas.
And I mentioned poms because I read somewhere that you can get a similar result to steinbachers by breeding poms to asiatic types.

haha i looked it up and i read about it before :) its a cross of 2 white geese anyway eg diffently a white chinese and some other white goose
