goose sexing question Updated with another question!!!

With the sebbies, the females are a tad smaller and more refined. Their voices aren't so much louder than the males, they are deeper. The boys sing soprano and the gals sing bass.

Also, the dominant male will keep the females behind him. If you go out to spend some time with them like I do and sit down to let them chew on you, the males will nip the females to keep them away at first, then it's a free for all and you'd better be wearing sturdy clothes.

I always have a hard time with the "soprano" vs "baritone" thing, becsuse I have examples to the contrary... but, generally, it holds true.

Geese are the easiest of all animals to vent sex, due to their size. You could hurt them if you do it wrong; but at the same time if you can't vent sex a goose you probably never will be able to vent sex anything.

Do you know anyone that can help?

p.s. as MP says, females most definitely hiss. don't go near their goslings for about the first 10 months, of you'll hear about it.

when ike ( our french bull dog) comes in the yard, 3 of them stay back and 1 of the older ones always chases him and gets in his face, the other just stay back and squackn and hiss, they are not very friendly and they always try to avoid me, but the dominant male is always sure to be first in line to hiss and squack at me when i come in the yard
PS...thanks sooo much, but how do u vent sex them when there butts are sooo fluffy
