My sebastopol is broody, and I because I have no gander and would like chicks I put some chicken eggs under her. Has anyone done this before on here?
Assuming she hatches the eggs and is a good goose mom, what should I do? Is she likely to be too rough or anything?
I know I could take the chicks away when they hatch, but that seems mean after she's gone to all that trouble. If she likes them I would rather not do that.
The goose pool is a human kiddy pool, so the geese have to step over a 5-6 inch ridge to get in. I think that should be safe.
Would I need to separate her from our other goose if she took care of the chicks?
Thank you! I'm really hoping this works.
