To make a long stort short I discovered one of my geese had stuck its head through the fence today (normal 2×4 fencing) and somehow gotten it wedged in there. I had to cut the fence apart to free it.There is a huge cut on its throat, one on the bill and I *think* that there was some blood out of the nostrils when I was freeing it but now (having seen the bill cut) I'm not positive what I saw.

Filled up the kiddie pool clean water, cleaned the goose up as best as I could and put Blukote on all visable wounds. Is there anything else I should do? It is hot and dry here and frankly my worry is flies.
It seemed pretty dazed at first and was hiding but is now getting around fine if a bit slow.
I'm angry because this was such a freak accident.

Ouch, poor thing! I would definitely bring it inside at least until the wounds scab over if there is a chance of flystrike. Either that, or pick up some Swat wound ointment to apply, since it repels flies.

When cleaning her up, did you see how deep the wounds are? If they're very deep, you may need to run her to a vet to get them stitched - the one on the throat is the one that worries me most in that regard.

I agree with Pyxis, that you may want to see a vet for stitching, and to also determine if her esophagus (food tube,) crop, and her trachea (airway) are all intact. I would not use the BluKote until her wounds are closed. Instead clean it with saline and plain triple antibiotic/neosporin ointment, or use Vetericyn wound spray. Best wishes on a good recovery. It might be good to post over on the goose forum as well here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/geese.47/create-thread

Just a quick update. Yesterday she mostly slept but this morning she's acting like nothing happened. Eating, drinking, honking and stretching her neck to watch geese overhead.

WHEW.

Going to hit TSC to see if they have an appropriate antibiotic for good measure. That kiddie pool was literally filled w clean water right before the pic was taken and i worry about infection.

Very good to hear that she is acting normal. Antibiotics are mostly gone from feed stores, except for a few injectable ones such as procaine penicillin G, injectable tetracycline (which I would not use due to possible injection site damage,) and Tylan 50. If I used one it would be penicillin G, but you may be fine just using Vetericyn wound spray or a little plain Neosporin ointment twice a day. The ointment may waterproof it as well.
