The worms were most likely forced out due to worm overload. No more room in the digestive tract so there is only one way to go...out the rear end where they will die without being attached to the digestive tract. They will be dying or already dead.I have seen worms sticking to the rears of both cats & dogs & survive for quite a while so I don't see why it would be any different in a bird. These sound too long & thin to be maggots.
