Goose won't accept gander

My female buff despises my White African gander. Last spring she wouldn let him near her and he seemed to have no interest in even attempting to mate with her. Later in the summer I bought 2 week old goslings and let her see them and she immediately adopted them. I thought the male was always invloved in helping protect the babies but she would attack him and he eventually wouldnt come wirh eye shot of her. He was 3 years old last summer and not sure on her age. He' never been vented but when I had other males I'd catch him fighting them.

Did either of the gosling turn out to be a gander? Has she paired off with one?

I haven't ever heard of a goose not liking another goose.[gander]

Sorry, this post does not make sense to me. Are you sure buff is female?

We didn' keep the babies as they ended up not being the breed I was told they were.
No im not positive the buff is a female, I was just assuming that it was a female cause she is in with my ducks and she would act interested in the ducks nest and cover up the eggs with hay and then adopted the goslings I had bought.
