GopherBoys smalles tallest coop~Update 6/24/2009~

Thanks Gopher Boy and family!!

Please keep the how-to pictures coming! My husband and I married quite young (quite some time ago

) and have had to learn this stuff on our own. We are always building something and occasionally we hit a snag where we have to search for the answer.

Your pictures and clear, concise instructions have taught me SO much! I am always thrilled when you explain the way you did something and how you used a tool. It's always "So THAT'S how you do that!"

Thanks for the lessons and the laughs!

ah, I'm not the brightest gopher in the gopher hole by any means, but, if my rental house had no heat, and then the landlord raised my rent $200 per month to use the fireplace, we would be havin a little talk out by that cedar kindlin pile.

In my years of real estate and property management, you can't really do that and get away with it, unless it is someplace that doesn't require heat to stay warm, and I don't believe it's that way up in WA.

He needs an adjustment to his thought process.

You could tell him that you require him to provide you with a heater, he may come back down.....I am sure there are laws about rental houses having heat...

We have a fire pit in the back yard, and my husband also cuts up old lumber to burn. I have to watch him, and grab any pieces I want when he gets to cutting....

we dont rock the boat to much with the landlord.....he is a originally from a different country...and doesnt know the tenant/landlord laws as well as we do (we used to be property manager for more then 4 yrs) We are fairly lucky to be able to have all the pets we want here, and at the moment we are a little behind in rent, and no one sweats it. BUT we do have to have LOTS of wood to stay warm all winter.
For as much room, land and freedom that we have here we are not going to rock the boat....just get as much wood piled up in the back yard as we can get.

You guys do such a great job of detailing all your projects. Your coop page is awesome.

The question I have is, what does Lance/GopherBoy do for a living?

Sidekick to Tim the Toolman Taylor?

I understand. It is worth the $200 for all the extras you are able to do.

It's whatever works between the two of you that is best. I just hate to see people that don't know, get run over by some of these slumlords. I was a property manager and a real estate broker for many years for a real estate investor, and he was pretty good about things. I rented from him for awhile, and we never did anything the usual and customary way, just whatever worked best for both of us.

So, forget I said anything, and carry on then.

yeah....cuz wasnt the side kick to Tim the Toolman the one with all the know how? That would be Lance.
But really Lance is a Union Carpenter.

oh no, say it ain't so! Not UNION! no................................, lol, just kidding.

I didn't know they still had union carpenters. I guess our area of the US just doesn't have the unions anymore. Now we just have the burrito carpenters. If it would give the jobs back to us american folk, I would be all for the union down here!
