Gorgeous Started White Silkie Pair From SQ Stock!!! **pics**

Thanks for all the negative vibes, ladies. I 'preciate it! Sure enough now someone will bid over me. Gah!

What I really don't understand is the snipers. The people who wait until the very last second to put in their bid. If you know how much you are willing to spend then why not just make your max bid and walk away from it? That's what I've always done; it just seems somehow more ethical, honest and nicer that way. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and get a little nastier and sneakier too.

I truly hope you meant that all in fun-like this auction has been since day 1. No one means anyone any harm or hard feelings-sniper or not it has nothing to do with being nasty-unethical-or dishonest. Its all in fun and winning gorgeous birds in the end-or eggs or whatever else "snipers" are bidding on. NOW...yes, there is sneakiness -its all part of the fun

Oh and alot of the times I and alot of others do put in their Max bid and walk away-then change their minds because they just "have to have them!" and there max goes out the windows! Has for me a few times:-( I have learned to control myself though as when I do go overboard-I hatch out all roos! Serves me right!

PS ..wish you the best of luck on this auction-

I was actually fairly serious. I get the out-bidding one another when you really want something. Totally. And yes, this auction has been fun. I stand by the opinion however that jumping into an auction in the very last seconds is crappy, at least on my ethical and nice barometer. Others may have different barometers and that's okay too. If they don't think it's crappy then more power to them, sincerely and not snarkily.

I am actually not worried about this auction anymore. I bought an absolutely stunning show silkie from another excellent breeder on this site at a fraction of what she is worth. Since I am new to this and he said make an offer for her I did. $30. He was extremely polite and nice and didn't take offense when he should have except for the fact I didn't know any better. Now I do and realize what a great price he let me have her for! She is as nice as this pullet and I don't have to pay for a rooster I can't have so win for me and win for someone else on this auction. Winner winner chicken dinner! (Except we don't eat chicken in my house - we eat that other white meat, the third white meat with no name.)

Agreed NAT!! I am KNOWN for waiting to bid the last 30 seconds to a minute of an auction!!! It's nothing personal nor do I think it's unethical. It's really all in good fun and there's no rules on when you can bid...could be the first hour of the auction or the last second.

I know it can be frustrating as heck to lose an auction to someone you weren't even aware of. Believe me, I've had it done to me before many times. But, again, it's all part of the fun.

Good luck to everyone bidding!!! Only a little over a half hour left!!!

Hah! No way am I winning this auction. I know what my max bid is and it's nowhere near $400. At the end of the day I could never justify spending that much money on a couple of chickens. Not until I win the lottery, feed all the hungry kids in my town and build a giant coop with copper roof and a Jolly Roger flag flying high!

I do actually already have the flag part of that equation so you never know.
